Don’t be misled
Other companies can offer extended warranty products to protect digital satellite equipment from Sky. But they can’t say they are Sky or that they are contacting you with Sky’s permission. They are acting unlawfully if they do.

Sky has successfully taken a number of companies, including Satellite Direct UK Ltd and Satcover Ltd, to court for misleading Sky customers in this way.


How did these companies get my data?
We can assure you that we never authorise the disclosure of our customers’ details to these companies, nor do we permit these companies to use Sky customers’ information in any way.

Sky continues to actively monitor and investigate extended warranty companies that it receives complaints about, including the source of the data used by those companies.

Check you’re talking to Sky Protect
Sky Protect, the official Sky Repair service is provided and administered by our trusted partner Domestic & General. Our protection plan was developed especially for Sky customers and ensures you receive a high quality service – including Sky-trained engineer.

If you’re contacted by a company claiming to be Sky, or calling on behalf of Sky or Domestic & General here’s what to look out for:

• Ask for the name of their company (if they are not from Domestic & General they are not officially approved or endorsed by Sky)
• Ask the name of the plan they offer (if it is not Sky Protect, it is not officially approved or endorsed by Sky)
• Ask them to confirm your Sky account number, your box type and when you first subscribed to Sky (only Sky Protect will have these details)

If they can’t give this information to you, they’re not Sky Protect. Simple.
